Bio

Most of the “official” information you’d want to know about me, career-wise, is best viewed either on the Resume page of this site, or via my LinkedIn profile.

About 10 years ago I changed professions, moving from a technical field in healthcare to technical communication in the business world. It’s been a good transition, and networking has been the biggest key to success (what they say is true!).

Last year my job fell victim to the economic recession, but things turned out well for me and I found work pretty quick. In the process I learned a boatload of stuff about social media, website design and employability in general. I also met lots of wonderful people along the way: job-seekers’ groups are a terrific source of encouragement and advice, and so needed these days.

Other than a year in Orange County California (Hello OC friends!), I’ve lived in Northeast Ohio my whole life. I thought I’d always want to, but after those “POTC” movies, the Caribbean doesn’t look too bad to me either!

What else would you care to know? We all take winding paths through life … I have those Grammys for classical music, but I’ve also been a card-carrying member of the Dr. Who Fan Club … I prefer to drive a stick shift car, but I really don’t enjoy self-serve checkout at the grocery store … like about 1 in every 2,000 people, I have grapheme  –> color synesthesia. Life is weird. Life is good.
